Thirty-four Weeks Old!
Well, this week has been a mess! I've already posted about the three big things that happened... Family pictures, Easter Sunday and Thomas deploying... so this might be a little boring!
Thomas and his men were laid over in New Jersey for 24 hours. I guess their plane had some trouble and they had to rework arrival times in Germany before they could leave. I talked to him twice while he was there but missed his call tonight because I was giving Lily a bath and left my cell in the diaper bag! I guess I haven't gotten in the habit of clutching the phone in my hands where ever I go yet! [soon though!] I assume he's fine since I haven't heard other wise! Hopefully I'll get a call or an email in the next few days! I'll update when there's some news of him!
Lily has been a monster for the last few days! Nichole seems to think that it's because she can sense that her Daddy's gone and she misses him! I would hope she couldn't "miss" him because that would break my heart:( But she's also trying to cut that second tooth... so I'm thinking that's the majority of the issue! Tuesday she wouldn't let me out of her sight without screaming and most of the time I had to be holding her as well! It was a tough day for me! I had made a list of things to accomplish this week so that I could stay busy and get everything ready for my trip to Jacksonville next week... but she wasn't letting me get anything done! It's not as easy as "throw her in the moby wrap and do your thing" when she almost weighs 20 pounds and can push and kick and scream now lol!!
Today she was a little better! She would let me walk out of the room for a few minutes before she started screaming at least! We went to Nichole's so she could have some change of scenery and I could have some company! Then we went grocery shopping and she actually didn't fight the wrap and took a nap for most of the time! She loves Wal-mart though... every time we are there she is sooo intrigued! Then we came home and played and danced a little and she even let me have some Internet time while she played with herself before her bath! She crashed around 7:30:)
She is still toting her spoon around! She really loves that thing! She completely ignores all of her "baby" toys and plays with a bunch of random things now! Like a Mrs. Dash seasoning bottle, her spoon, the Tylenol bottle [supervised!], a calculator and an empty ribbon spool! And remotes pretty much rock her world! But she doesn't get to play with those very often because she messes the tv up pretty bad!
She is soooooooooo close to crawling! It's so scary watching her because I just know she could take off at any second! I sit there trying to prepare myself in my head! And I fight the urge to just have a camera pointed at her every second of the day! I want to see it with my own eyes... I don't want a lens in my way!
She moved her knee again today while we were at Nichole's! We both almost cried!! And tonight in the tub I let her get on her knees in the water. She seemed to have an easier time since she was more buoyant and trusted my arm under her! She was all over the place! I can't wait to get her in a pool! I think she's going to be a really good swimmer!!
Oh yea... and she got her first little head bump today! She was playing and face planted into a toy and got a little red bump on her forehead! It didn't even seem hard enough to leave a mark and she didn't really freak out that bad. But since all three of my memory cards were full I didn't get a picture of it tonight! I'll get one in the morning if it's still there!

Bye-Bye Daddy!

We kissed Thomas good-bye a few minutes ago:(
We took him to the squadron around 1:00 and ended up having to wait around for a few hours before thier brief. It was nice to have some extra time with him but Lily started getting pretty grumpy a few minuted before his meeting so he just walked us out to the car and we said good bye there!
It is definitely different this time! First of all, it's our third deployment so it's old news to us! Plus, we've been through a 3 month and a 6 month deployment and this one is going to be 3 months... so we know how fast it's going to fly by! But the biggest difference is that we're parents now! It's hard not to feel the tug on your heart when you think about him missing any amount of her life! When he put her in her car seat she just stared at him and he said that it looked like there was some worry in her eyes! She reached up and touched his face and gave him a beautiful smile! I had been holding it together pretty good but started crying a little when I saw that! She loves her daddy so much! It was hard for him to walk away from us and he came back for a few kisses before I could get in the car myself! But it was the best send off we've had! Very personal and relaxed! It was as perfect as a send off could be!
I felt a little guilty for not staying to see his bus leave but Lily needed to eat and nap so it was best that we left when we did!
I hope to hear from him in the next few days. He is usually really good at calling to let me know that he's there and safe!
So please just keep him and all of his men in your prayers tonight as they fly and over the next few months as they work to complete their mission! I am a VERY proud wife! The group of men that he works with make an astonishing impact on the safety and freedom of our country! We really are safer with them over there!
I will update as soon as I hear from him and will post his address in case any of you would like to send him anything [his 25Th birthday is on the 23rd!]!
You can always contact him through his email address listed on the right side of this page!

Family Pictures!
A Friend of a friend here in town started doing some free photo shoots for practice so I jumped on it and asked if we could trade sessions! She did our family pictures Saturday at the Cape Fear Botanical Gardens [free admission all of April] and I'm going to do some family pictures for her at the beach later this summer!
It was a perfectly overcast day and I was sooo excited because I knew that was ideal weather but Lily couldn't let it be thaaaat easy for any of us! She is cutting her second tooth and is pretty much a monster! Plus she's my kid so she has a camera in her face everyday! So she wanted nothing to do with Katherine, her camera, the squeaky toys or any of our beautiful [cough] singing:( It was a tough hour but we pushed through and I am sooo thankful to have some pictures of us together as a family! Especially since Thomas is leaving so soon!
The first one is my absolute favorite! But I really love the one where she's crying! That face pretty much summed up the whole day!

Happy Easter!
We hope you all had a wonderful Easter!
I will get pictures up as soon as I can get through the 8,000 other posts I have backed up right now! [POSTED BELOW:) Sorry, they got all gumbled up when I posted so they aren't in order... But, atleast they are there;)]
We woke up this morning and drove out to Aaran Lakes Baptist for the 11:00 service! Well they were packed! We had to sit in the foyer and watch the sermon on T.V. lol! That lasted about an hour and then Lily started being a monster and the pastor didn't seem to be looking at the clock whatsoever! So we packed up and left! We went out to Chili's for lunch since Lily was finally taking a nap in her car seat! It was nice to be able to just talk to each other over dinner without having to pay half [most] of my attention to Lily even though she was right next to us! Oh, and she carried her spoon all through church and the restaurant! You should have seen some of the looks we got! After lunch we went to Barnes and Noble's and sat on the floor and read some books with Lily before she was totally frantic and we were both too tired to calm her down anymore!I tried to take a few family pictures with my tripod since we were all dressed up but she was still pretty grumpy but was refusing to take a nap so I just gave up after a few turned out alright! Then we headed over to a friend's house for an Easter/going away cook out we threw together this week! It was 5 families and 4 of the 5 guys are all in Thomas' squadron and will be deploying together soon. We had tons of great food and it was fun to watch all of the kids play together with their dogs! There were a few new babies there and I felt a TINY fever start... Baby fever that is!We stayed over there until around 8:00 and then headed home. Thomas gave Lily a bath and we recorded some video of him reading a few books and saying her bed time prayers so that I can play that for her while he's gone! She finally went to bed a little after 9:00! Thomas is finishing up some homework and then we're going to try and watch a movie together if we can both keep our eyes open long enough! It's been a long day but I've loved having the time with Thomas and know I'm going to miss it soo much once he's gone!

Lily Stats- 7 months
Lily had a sick baby appointment this morning! She had some diarrhea yesterday and sounded really congested and wheezy. She didn't seem to be feeling very badly but was pretty aggravated when she couldn't cough up the gunk in her chest! So I just went ahead and made an appointment to be on the safe side! We got in pretty early and Lily was great! She is always so talkative when we're at the doctor's! They said it just seemed like she had some allergies and that she was probably getting the diarrhea for teething... no big deal! They prescribed some meds for the allergies and the congestion but I needed to get her shots done so I will pick up the meds on Monday! She did great for the "shot lady"! It still breaks my heart but she seems to recover faster and faster from the shock/pain! [which makes me kind of sad... like she's getting used to being hurt or something:(]
All in all she is doing great! Her favorite "toy" is a spoon from our kitchen drawer! She held it all day while we were at a friend's house playing and slept with it for her afternoon nap! It's really precious! Thomas is worried that it's going to mess with her tooth enamel... so he doesn't like her playing with it lol!
...But he's leaving soon, so it will just have to be our secret;)
