My new blog is ready to be revealed!
I decided a few months back that I wanted to have a blog that Incorporated everything in my life. My family and my photography. So I started Heather Whitten Photography | {the blog} to do just that!
This blog will be much more relaxed. No weekly check-ins. But I do plan to blog a lot more. I want to be able to post pictures andddd the story behind them. Not just a mass picture post once a week. My hope behind this new blog is that you will be able to follow along on a more personal level.
It is open to everyone. The pictures will all be watermarked. If you want copies of the pictures to print, please leave me a comment or shoot me an email. I will email you the printable files!
Lily's blog has been amazing. I am so thankful that I will have this to look back on forever. Thank you for following all this time! And I hope that you will continue to follow our lives over on the new blog!

Birthday Party!!
The day of Lily's party was pretty hectic! It rained all day and stopped just 30 minutes before everyone was supposed to show up. We were rushed to finish the cake, the food and the set up. And we were all hot and sweaty looking when the guests arrived! My family was amazing and everyone helped me with everything! I COULD NOT have done any of it with out them allll! [Thank you family!]
Most everyone that was invited showed up. So we had close to 50 adults and children there. It was so special to be able to share that day with everyone that came!
The humidity and flies were beyond anything I could have imagined! But we all managed to have fun inspite of them! The rain held off until it was time to open presents. So we moved inside to open the gifts and have some cake and then moved back outside so the kids could hit the pinata!
I didn't have my camera in my hands at all that day. I was just too busy with everything. So Haley, Debra and Michele all took pictures for me! [Thank you ladies!] I'm just posting the ones from Debra right now. I stole these from her FaceBook page!

Cupcake Smash & Other Birthday Randomness<3
I painted Lily's toenails the other day for the first time! It was difficult but not as hard as I was expecting it to be! Still messy and far from perfect! But it was a sweet moment for me and she has gotten sooo many compliments on them:)

Daddy helping Lily open her very first birthday present, from my High school best friend, Deanie!

Deanie, Lily and her new Mr. Froggie<3

She has slept with him twice today! It was love at first sight! Good job Deanie! Thank you for coming to visit and bringing gifts!

After Deanie left we ran a few errands to pick up some party supplies. On our way out of Wal-Mart Lily saw all of the seagulls flying around and was transfixed on them! She yelled and screamed and flapped her arms at them all the way to the car!

Sporting her "Birthday Girl" dress<3

And then it was cupcake smashing time! I know her birthday party isn't until Saturday. i fully intend on her to smash her birthday cake as well. But I couldn't let the girl's actual birthday pass with out her having a candle and some kind of sweetness in her tummy! She'd never really had sweets like this [that I know of at least;)] but once she got a few tastes, she was game! She ate most of the cupcake and had a great time smearing it all over her tray and her face and hair! Daddy brushed her teeth extra good tonight after her bath;)

All-in-all it was a wonderful day. I am pretty exhausted. I haven't slept since Wednesday at 8:30 a.m.! But I am so glad that we got to be in Jacksonville to celebrate with family and friends! Anddd that I am up-to-date with this blog!
I probably won't post again until Monday since the next few days are going to be pretty busy around here. But I promise that there are going to be TONS of pictures from this weekend to come check out next week:)

*!*TWELVE MONTHS OLD*!*
I have been up all night updating the blog. So when Lily woke up to nurse at 4:30 I was so happy that I was going to be able to spend some special time with her on her birthday! I had her snuggled up in my arms at the exact time that she was born a year ago today! It was really, very special!
If you are a parent, you know that there aren't any words to express what it is like to spend the first year as a parent with your child. It has definitely been the most amazing year of my life. Full of wonder and hope and dreams of the future that don't see so far-fetched anymore! But it's also been one of the most terrifying and guilt ridden years as well. There is no love like the love a parent has for their child. It is a double edged sword. As much as I marvel at her growth, I long for her to stop growing all together and stay this way or that way for ever. Time moves too fast. There isn't enough time to grab on to and cherish each moment the way they should be. I am so thankful that I have this blog to look back on and to show Lily one day.
