Five Weeks Old!!

Well, my ittie bittie baby girl isn't so ittie bittie anymore!! She got weighed and measured at my WIC appointment on Tuesday and she is now 9 pounds, 3 ounces and almost 22 inches long!!! That's 2 pounds and almost 3 inches since she was born!!! She is so amazingly gorgeous though!! I can't help but think that she is getting prettier and prettier by the day!!

Lots of pictures this week! They aren't all that great but there are a few of her smiling!! She has started "social smiling" now and it fills my heart with so much joy when she does it!!

I can't even remember the beginning of this week... but the past few days have been pretty fun! Lots of running around town and today we had some family pictures taken!! A photographer from Jacksonville was driving through Fayetteville on her way home from visiting family so she was great enough to stop and do a quick shoot for us!!

Lily is getting a lot better at holding her head up and she is tracking fingers, faces, voices and toys really well!! She is getting some more use out of the bassinet, swing and bouncer now too!! I try to put her in something once or twice a day so she can enjoy the movement and music and I can get stuff done around her! And I'm getting better at putting her in the bassinet while she sleeps during the day too! She still sleeps with us at night and I have heard good and bad opinions about that! But honestly, it is working out really well for us and she is sleeping really well at night, so I'm happy and that's all that matters!!

Hopefully this cooler weather will mean less mosquitos and I'll be able to get outside and goof around with the manual settings on my camera and start getting you guys some really good pictures of Lily! But until then you'll just have to enjoy these ones!!!

*!*ONE MONTH OLD*!*

Lily is a whole month old today!!! And she looked so precious all day!!

Lily was congested all night so I didn't get much sleep so Thomas got up at 7:30 and took her for me so I could get an hour of good sleep before we had to start getting ready! Thomas gave Lily a bath and got her all dressed up in her new outfit to celebrate her 1 month birthday while I got ready and then Lily and I went to our baby shower! It was such a blessing! Lily got to visit with some great ladies and we played games and ate some great food! She got some great new toys and books and diapers! I was pretty worn out but I was so thankful that the ladies threw us a shower... it really meant a lot:)

Then We came home and picked up Thomas and went shopping for a new computer desk and a pretty dress for Lily to wear at her dedication in a few weeks! But that trip ended up taking forrreverrr!! We ended up finding a great desk at the PX and finalllly found a dress I liked at babies'R'us along with some Saline nose drops to help with Lily's congestion!! Once we got home it was 8:30 at night and we were all exhausted!! Lily passed out in her favorite spot... curled up to my squishy belly!! And Thomas is putting together our new desk! We tried out the saline drops and they seem to be working pretty good! She's been sneezing a bit but it was nothing like it was last night! We're getting ready to head to bed so we can attempt to try out a new church in the morning and then go to the county fair for a bit since tomorrow is family day or something like that... if you bring a bulletin from a local church that day, you get in for free! So we thought that was a pretty great thing they were doing and that we should probebly start trying to get serious about finding a church locally since it looks like we might be sticking around fayetteville for a few years now!! But anywho!... I just wanted to post her pictures from today so you all could celebrate her with us!! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!!

Four Weeks Old!!

So... This week has been a pretty demanding one! I'm sorry that this blog is so late, but I hope you're happy there is one at all!!

Monday was my first day totally alone with Lily! There was no family here and Thomas went back to work! Let's just say I was a little nervous!! All weekend she had had some kind of congestion/gasiness and would gag and spit up bubbles... so needless to say I was convinced she was going to die as soon as Thomas walked out the door monday morning and left me alone with her!! But instead of dying she decided she wanted to eat! And eat! And eat!! She was miraculously cured of the gagging and now just wanted my boob constantly! The longest she slept for two days was an hour straight! Most of the time she took 30 minute cat naps, in my lap, between feedings! By Tuesday night I was convinced she wasn't getting good enough milk from me and that that was the reason she was eating so much! So I caved in and gave her a bottle of formula... feeling completely guilty and worthless the whole time! But even after she ate the formula she wanted to eat again 30 minutes later!! So it finally dawned on me to read the nursing book the hospital gave me! And right there it said that it was normal for babies to have a growth spurt around 3 weeks and to be fussy and want to eat around the clock and that after a few days my milk supply would catch up to her demand and even out the feedings!!!! So then I felt even worse for giving her the formula because all I had to do was read and I would have figured it out! But owell... she survived and the next day she was sleeping 3-4 hours between feedings just like old times:)

Lily is getting so big! It's so amazing to watch her grow! She has started looking at me while I talk to her and she'll even turn her head and track me if I move from side to side while I'm talking! That is very exciting because I am sooo ready for her to be able to interact with us! But in the back of my mind I know that she is only going to be this small for such a short amount of time and that I need to just cuddle her and love her as much as I can right now!! I had heard or read somewhere that it was impossible to spoil babies this young... but I'm not too sure about that anymore!! She's pretty particular about where she sleeps! I have to say that we are sooo blessed because she doesn't cry at allll unless she needs to eat or needs to be changed! But God forbid you put this girl in a basinette lol!! She will sleep in the bed with us, in our arms, in the car seat or on a pillow beside me on the couch! But that's it! Which means I have to be with her the whole day at this point!! I'm slowly trying to get her introduced to the swing and the bouncy seat but don't want to rush it since she still doesn't fit in them yet! Hopefully in a week or two I'll be able to leave her in one of those so I can actually get stuff done around the house! Poor Thomas has been pulling double duty! He comes home from working all day and then straightens up the house and helps with dinner and the baby!! He is the best husband I could have ever asked for!!

Things really have settled down nicely though!! We have taken her out to eat and shopping a few times this week and she is wonderful! Never a hassle at all! We just strap her into her sling and Thomas carries her around and she sleeps the whole time! She loves that thing:) People are always so surprised to see her in the sling though! They always ask if "there's really a baby in there!?" lol!!

Tomorrow she will be ONE MONTH OLD!!! -- F.Y.I. I'm not sure how the weeks and months work out, age-wise! So I just count every Wednesday as a new week and the 20th of every month a new month!!-- Thomas' squadron is throwing me a baby shower in the morning! We decided to do it after she was born since there was so much going on this summer and I had a feeling (hope) that she would come a little early! So I'm looking forward to that! Thomas bought his new T.V. tonight!!! He got a 46" flat screen and is putting together the new tv stand now!! He got 3 of his friends from work to come in on their lunch today to help him get our huge entertainment donated to the Airman's attic and then we spent most of the evening rearranging the living room so that we could have more floor space so that I can eventually put Lily down on her Tummy Time mat to play and not have to worry about the dogs trampling her on their way to the door:)

Next month is going to be pretty neat for us! On the 4th we're going to be in jacksonville to celebrate my baby sister's 11th birthday and then on the 5th we are going to be dedicating Lily to the Lord at our home church and hopefully having my dear friend kassi come and do some pictures of that and a little family shoot afterwards! Then on the 11th we are going to be driving down to Florida for 3 weeks! Thomas has a UAV course there and Lily and I are going to tag along!! I love that area in Florida and can't wait to take Lily to the beach for the first time and to experience our first family vacation of sorts!!! So look out for all those great pictures next month!!!
I guess that's all I have to report right now!! I'll post pictures of the baby shower and of miss Lily all dressed up for her 1 month bday tomorrow or Sunday!
Hope you have a great weekend!!

Lily Pictures- 3 weeks

The second picture is of her very first milk mustach!!

Three Weeks Old!!

Hey everyone!! I'm actually posting on time this week:)
Our little girl is 3 weeks old today and she is doing great!!

Thomas left on Sunday for a week-long UAV seminar so I drove to Jacksonville to stay with my parents! I figured I better take advantage of having my momma so close and not have to take care of Lily by myself all week! It has been a wonderful visit! On Monday Lily got to meet all of her grandma's co-workers that just ate her up! On Tuesday she spent the whole day with Thomas' parents and got to meet a few people from our church! And today we spent some time with my great friend Kassi and her 5 month old son! It was so great to be able to share my blessing with so many people that loved and prayed for me throughout my pregnancy!! And to see Kassi's son and how big he has grown in the 5 months makes me so excited for Lily's future! I love her so much and think she is pretty amazing right now... I can only imagine how special it is going to be when she can laugh and play! I'm a lucky lady:):)

Thomas is flying home sometime Friday and we are very excited to see him again!! It's so hard to know that he is away from his baby girl, even if it is only for a week! But he is being so blessed at work and really learning so much and doing great things so we know that it is for a reason and that the separation will pay off in the long run!!

Lily has been sleeping in her car seat this whole time and is just starting to fuss around... so I'll see how many pictures i can get up before i have to change her diaper and feed her again! But I hope you are still enjoying the blog and checking in to see our pretty lady grow each week!! Thanks again for all the support and prayers!! It means so much:0)
