[some] Maternity Pictures

Since I bought my new camera when Thomas got home, I figured I would have my mom or sister do my maternity pictures so I wouldn't have to pay a ton of money to one of the "photographers" in this area! BUT... Hunter had a softball tournament on the last weekend I was going to be in Jacksonville, so my mom was out of town! My friend Kassi is starting to get into photography and planning on starting up a business after she PCS's next year... so I figured she was the best person to ask! She said yes and we did a trade... she didn't charge us and she gets to use the shots for her portfolio! I was thrilled! It was a lot of fun and I think she got some good shots of us! Thomas was a goofball the whole time and in one of the pics he is poking Lily with a stick! She posted some of the shots on her blog so I'm posting them on here for all of you to enjoy! I know there are more to come but I couldn't keep you waiting any longer:)

Belly Picture- 34w2d

Here we are!! The stretch marks show up so good in pictures!! In person you can only see one really... but on here you can really see them!! Which does make me happy, because no one believes me that they are there since they can't see them! So now I have proof lol!!!
There's a regular belly pic, one covered and one of Thomas and I before we went to dinner and to see the Batman movie tonight!!

34 Weeks Pregnant!

Hey everyone!! I have been enjoying having my husband home and blogging hasn't been on my mind... I apologize! Things have settled down pretty good so I'm back and ready to fill you in on everything:)

We spent a week on the Outer Banks right after Thomas got home! It was such a nice vacation! We changed our minds about Florida at the last second since gas is so high and what not and decided to give the Outer Banks a try since neither of us had ever been even though we've both lived in NC our whole lives!! We stayed in a cute Inn and saw all the historical sites, ate at great sea food places every night, saw some wild horses and just enjoyed being with each other all over again!

We ended up coming home a day early because I was pretty uncomfortable with the swelling I've been having in my feet... so we figured we would just cut the trip short a day and be that much closer to being back home! We spent the weekend in Jacksonville dog sitting for my parents while they were at a softball tournament for Hunter and we spent some time with Thomas' family! Then it was back to Fayetteville, early Monday morning for my doctors appointment!

The monitoring is going pretty well!! Monday morning the nurse thought my Amniotic Fluid was low so we sat around forever waiting for a doctor to come in and redo the U/S! She came in and checked it out and everything was fine! Thursday, everything went smooth! It's pretty annoying to have to do all this extra monitoring... but really it's just 30-60 minutes at a time and all I have to do is lay on a bed and chew on ice chips... so I guess there really isn't anything to complain about! They are taking care to make sure that Lily is doing ok and so far, so good:):)

We started the nursery on Monday and worked on it all week! I still have to wash all of her clothes and blankets and stuff and we need to hang up her shelves... but everything is put together and in it's place! It was really fun to work together to get it all done! Thomas worked so hard to get all of her furniture put together and he was so willing to shop with me for everything that we still needed for her!! Having the room ready makes it so much harder to wait for Lily to get here!! Once Thomas got home I was pretty much fed up with being pregnant! It hasn't really been that rough, but I am just ready to make him a daddy and to be a mommy!! So now that we've got the nursery ready I want her here to make it real!! But we are enjoying our time together as a childless couple!

Thomas has been doing pretty good with me being pregnant! He's not too terribly insensitive about my size or hunger level or mood swings:) The biggest thing is our eating schedules!! I usually need to eat something every few hours and he can go with eating only once a day!! So he does get pretty annoyed when I ask for food! But I think after I went off on him the second or third time for not taking me to eat on vacation, he picked up on the importance and has been getting better!! He doesn't like Hungry Heather very much and I don't blame him!

Now we're just going to be hanging out around Fayeteville until he has to go back to work at the beginning of August! We start Childbirth Classes in August! The course is 7 weeks... so there's a pretty good chance we won't make it to the end of the class without going into labor first... but it is pretty exciting to think about how close we are to Having the baby!! The past few months have just flown by! I can't wait to see her:):)

WEEK THIRTY-FIVE
The average baby weighs almost five and a half pounds now.
Most babies born now will survive and without many long-term problems.
Fat accumulations plumps up the arms and legs this week. These layers of fat will help him regulate his body temperature. They also provide those cute little dimples on elbows and knees!
Her hearing is fully developed, so be sure to talk to your daughter. Do you find yourself speaking in a high-pitched tone? That's okay since some studies show babies respond better to higher pitches.
It's getting crowded! Your baby is now taking up most of the uterus and you may even feel like your chest has run out of room! Soon enough though, baby will move down and you'll be able to breathe easily again (just not walk so easily! Ha!).
Your baby is 18.2 inches (46.2cm) long and weighs 5.3 pounds (2383gm).

Thomas' Homecoming and pregnancy update!!!

Thomas got home yesterday a little after 6:00 in the morning!!!

There had been so many delays over the week, it was hard for me to sleep... thinking that I would get my hopes up and just be let down again and have to wait another day or two! But this time was the real thing!! I spent the last day with Nichole and her daughter shopping and having lunch and then took a pretty long nap in the afternoon. I finished up some laundry and hung up my Welcome Home banner... which kicked my butt!! It was about to storm and the air was so thick with humidity that my glue and glitter letters wouldn't dry... so they kind of ran down the sign when it was finally hung! I ended up not sleeping. Family members were supposed to be at the squadron at 4:30am... so I was going to need to be awake by 3:30 so I just staied up out of fear of sleeping through the homecoming (Like I did the first time... ask me about it sometime!!)

Once I got to the squadron I sat around with Robin and Nichole and ate some finger foods and just tried to be as relaxed as possible... and stay awake!! We were there for almost two hours before the buses rolled in! It was so amazing! Anyone that has been separated from a spouse knows the feelings that go through your mind at the reunion! I was nervous and excited and scared and nauseous and tired... it all went away when I saw him walking towards me!! My husband is home:):) He has lost a lot of weight... like how thin he was when we started dating almost 7 years ago!! But he looks so great and he is so happy to be home!

We went home and slept for a few hours... or tried to sleep! I don't think either of us was adjusted to sleeping in bed with someone else anddd I'm a little tough to cuddle with since I have this belly! But we went to lunch and then went to my 32 week check up at the hospital! The doctor said I'm measuring on time and that Lily's heartbeat is strong! But since we have all the silly, possible complications dealing with the placenta and the umbilical cord he thought it was time for me to start being monitored regularly! And by that I mean every Monday and Thursday until I deliver I will go to the hospital and get strapped with fetal monitors that measure contractions (if any), fetal movements and fetal heart rate. And I have an ultrasound to monitor the amounts of amniotic fluid!! Crazy huh!?!? We started the testing yesterday and Thomas got to hear Lily's heart beating and see her on the u/s screen all on his first day home! It was very special! Everything checked out with us! The doctor said my print outs were "gorgeous" and that Lily was doing great!!! We're thrilled about that... notsomuch, the idea that I'll have to be at the hospital twice a week since we were planning a trip to Florida and Jacksonville! We're still trying to figure that one out!!

After the appointment we went to Best Buy and spent some of our deployment savings!! We have been saving this whole time for some fun little gadgets! I finally have my Cannon Rebel XSi (camera)and a few fun things to go with it and we also got our GPS system and an external hard drive!! His fun things are still waiting! He'll be getting a 40" flat screen soon and a laptop so he can start online classes for his degree!!!

After that we went to dinner and talked for a few hours! I think that's where we finally started to feel like the couple we were before he left! We settled back in and opened up to each other! It was really nice! That night, in bed he felt Lily moving for the first time! She was just punching my side a little... nothing like the flips and rolls and kicks she usually dishes out! But he felt them and was so shocked! I guess she was taking it easy and starting slow for him!! I can't wait to see her in his arms!!

31 Weeks Pregnant!!

Sorry I'm late... not that you all aren't getting used to that!
This week has been crazy! Thomas was supposed to be in on Wednesday but we have been dealing with a ton of delays! It's been a roller coaster for sure! But all is on track and he should be in my arms verrry soon:)
I've been keeping busy with some of the other spouses! Lots of pool time and dinners at each others houses! I even played Dance Dance Revolution last night lol!! I got an E for effort:) We watched fireworks together and it was a really great way to spend the 4th! I had originally planned to sit at home and pout about Thomas not being home lol!!
I can't remember if I've mentioned my stretch marks yet! They are flesh colored still so I really can't complain about them! They are starting to spread across the bottom of my tummy though. Lily lays on my right side almost constantly so there are more on that side... but like I said, they are fleshy pink so I really don't hate them lol! Lets just hope I stay lucky... we'll see!!
Not a lot more to report! Lily has been very active! I feel her moving almost constantly during the day! I am starting to get used to it though so sometimes I can go a few hours without even noticing it now! But it really is a lovely feeling, when she's not being totally spastic and rough!! I can't wait for Thomas to feel her:)
Well, I need to get back to cleaning but here are more Fun Facts about this week!!

All five senses are working. Your little one is fascinated and practicing testing these out as much as possible!
Toenails are completely formed even though she may not be quite ready for a French manicure.
Hair on your infant's head continues to grow in.
