Thomas' Homecoming and pregnancy update!!!

Thomas got home yesterday a little after 6:00 in the morning!!!

There had been so many delays over the week, it was hard for me to sleep... thinking that I would get my hopes up and just be let down again and have to wait another day or two! But this time was the real thing!! I spent the last day with Nichole and her daughter shopping and having lunch and then took a pretty long nap in the afternoon. I finished up some laundry and hung up my Welcome Home banner... which kicked my butt!! It was about to storm and the air was so thick with humidity that my glue and glitter letters wouldn't dry... so they kind of ran down the sign when it was finally hung! I ended up not sleeping. Family members were supposed to be at the squadron at 4:30am... so I was going to need to be awake by 3:30 so I just staied up out of fear of sleeping through the homecoming (Like I did the first time... ask me about it sometime!!)

Once I got to the squadron I sat around with Robin and Nichole and ate some finger foods and just tried to be as relaxed as possible... and stay awake!! We were there for almost two hours before the buses rolled in! It was so amazing! Anyone that has been separated from a spouse knows the feelings that go through your mind at the reunion! I was nervous and excited and scared and nauseous and tired... it all went away when I saw him walking towards me!! My husband is home:):) He has lost a lot of weight... like how thin he was when we started dating almost 7 years ago!! But he looks so great and he is so happy to be home!

We went home and slept for a few hours... or tried to sleep! I don't think either of us was adjusted to sleeping in bed with someone else anddd I'm a little tough to cuddle with since I have this belly! But we went to lunch and then went to my 32 week check up at the hospital! The doctor said I'm measuring on time and that Lily's heartbeat is strong! But since we have all the silly, possible complications dealing with the placenta and the umbilical cord he thought it was time for me to start being monitored regularly! And by that I mean every Monday and Thursday until I deliver I will go to the hospital and get strapped with fetal monitors that measure contractions (if any), fetal movements and fetal heart rate. And I have an ultrasound to monitor the amounts of amniotic fluid!! Crazy huh!?!? We started the testing yesterday and Thomas got to hear Lily's heart beating and see her on the u/s screen all on his first day home! It was very special! Everything checked out with us! The doctor said my print outs were "gorgeous" and that Lily was doing great!!! We're thrilled about that... notsomuch, the idea that I'll have to be at the hospital twice a week since we were planning a trip to Florida and Jacksonville! We're still trying to figure that one out!!

After the appointment we went to Best Buy and spent some of our deployment savings!! We have been saving this whole time for some fun little gadgets! I finally have my Cannon Rebel XSi (camera)and a few fun things to go with it and we also got our GPS system and an external hard drive!! His fun things are still waiting! He'll be getting a 40" flat screen soon and a laptop so he can start online classes for his degree!!!

After that we went to dinner and talked for a few hours! I think that's where we finally started to feel like the couple we were before he left! We settled back in and opened up to each other! It was really nice! That night, in bed he felt Lily moving for the first time! She was just punching my side a little... nothing like the flips and rolls and kicks she usually dishes out! But he felt them and was so shocked! I guess she was taking it easy and starting slow for him!! I can't wait to see her in his arms!!
