These weeks are flyyyying by!!! And honestly, that's wonderful and terrible at the same time! I always find myself torn when Thomas is deployed. It's only natural to wish time to speed up so that we can be together again. But the cost of that is so high. My days with Lily fly by and I feel like I am missing so much of her. Deployments are stressful. There is so much to do on my own and my head is constantly spinning. I make lists everyday and rarely complete any of them. Finding the time to sit with my daughter and clear my head of nothing but me and her is sooo hard for me. I have tried to get better the last few days but I can tell my brain is fighting to distract me. I have had a killer headache for the last two days. And that makes it hard to focus. I ran around town with my high school best friend yesterday and did a photo shoot for her and her boyfriend and I was sooo spacey! I know that poor Lily is missing so much of her momma... but sometimes the best I can do is snuggle her or make sure that someone in the house has her and is giving her a good time while I work or am at school! I'm telling you the guilt is never ending with this gig!
Well, on to the fun stuff about Lily! She is such a ham! She loves to laugh and be laughed at! She sings in her car seat now. I think she might even have the same taste as her momma! She usually sings to the same songs that I do! I love that!! She is still screaming for attention! But most of the time she just buries her face in my chest when they turn to look at her! She really is a lot like me:)
She is the strangest crawler. She's almost 9 months old and still isn't traditionally crawling! Now she likes to stand up on her hands and feet and walk her feet up under her chest and then dive forward! She was crawling up my stomach like that this morning in bed and smashing her face into mine like she was giving me kisses! It was so sweet! She scoots across the floor and will hand knee crawl every now and then but she's taking her time, that's for sure! I'm in no hurry though! She's already getting around pretty fast in her own awkward way! I don't even want to think about how fast she is going to be once she gets coordinated!
She is still trying to pull herself up on the couch and the coffee tables. But she's smart! She's figured out that she can't grip them as well as she can my fingers! So she "crawls" over to me and grabs onto my hands and pulls herself up and then walks over to the table and lets go of me and grabs on to it! So I guess she's a problem solver like her daddy!!
Speaking of Thomas... He is doing good. I asked him to write a letter that i could post for all of you detailing his life over there but he's just been crazy busy the past few weeks. He is an E5 and is doing a job that an E9 did before him. He joked about getting a pay raise from his commander and I was silly enough to think that that was even possible!! But he's working very hard over there! He has lost some weight already since he usually works/sleeps through meal times. But a month has already flown by and he should be coming home on time so we only have a few more:)
