We're Moving!

We got the call a few days after we got to Jacksonville!
I can't remember if I wrote about the Base of Preferance paper work that Thomas filled out a few months agao or not, so I'm just going to write about it now lol!
Since Thomas has to re-enlist this year [by September] he was eligable for the B.O.P. program! Basically he got to make a list of bases that he would like to go to, anywhere in the continintal USA and they would pick one of them to send us to! It's nice since we don't want to go over seas! We talked about it a lot and did a lot of research on AF bases and made our list! We decided that it was more important to us to be at a good base than for us to stay close to family. It broke my heart to put bases that were across the contry... but I knew we would be happier some place nice than if we were stuck out side of Kinston, NC and hating life, even though we would only be an hour from home!
So the list was
1. South Carolina
2. Colorado
3. Florida
4. Florida
5. Florida
6. Arizona
7. Washington

We ended up taking Washington off of the list since there is a special tactics squadron there. We figured they would transfer Thomas there and we don't want to be in a STS anymore!

Well, the call came in a few days after we went down to Jacksonville! We're going to Arizona! Davis-Monthan AFB is right out side of Tucson!
We were pretty much in shock! I never really thought much about moving to Az since I figured we would get CO since it was so high on the list and already so out of my comfort zone!
They gave Thomas the choice of deploying for half the time or to not deploy at all. But my man is a good man! He decided to deploy even though we have sooo much to do before we move! His "Report no later than" date is July 31st but he is trying to get it worked out so that he can report at the end of August so he can deploy and still have enough time to get things done around here without us going crazy!
So if everything goes smoothly, we'll be on our way across the country in 4 months!!
